Edel and Sinead

Edel Nolan, one of Rosie’s three sisters, graduated from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin with a BA in Art and Design Education. She lives a short five-minute walk from the studio with her husband Davy and their two children, Katie and Conor. They have been living close by ever since renovations on the farm began, and Edel joined our team in 2012. Edel is responsible for much of the behind the scenes work that makes the Cow House run smoothly. Her love of food is demonstrated in her many experiments with fermenting and preserving foods, as well baking delicious soda bread for our guests.

Sinead O’Gorman, the youngest of the O’Gorman sisters also lives within a short walk of Cow House in the home she lovingly built with her late husband Barry. They welcomed two children during their precious time together, Ronan and Ada. Sinead holds a BA in Art and Design Education from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. Upon graduation, Sinead went to work at Stewarts Care, Dublin where she worked with intellectually disabled adults through the visual arts. Sinead has previously taught at Loreto College, Foxrock, the Racing Academy Centre of Education, Kildare, and in 2013 she was named lead artist for Identi-key, a Leargas funded inner city Dublin youth group project through Liberty Church. Sinead joined the team in 2013 and brings her optimism and patience as studio manager. Today her own practice includes ceramics, drawing and photography. During the summer she teaches alongside Frank, Rosie and our associate artists while keeping the studio in tip-top order.
